*Please note that information posted here is subject to change and/or update at any time. 1.1 EVENT DATES Newegg LANfest2K7 will be held from October 5th – October 7th, 2007 at the Ontario Convention Center. 1.2 AGE RESTRICTIONS LANfest2K7 attendees must be 14 years of age or older. Anyone under the age of 14 must be accompanied by a legal guardian. Additionally, anyone under the age of 18 must submit a fully completed and signed LANfest2K7 Parental Consent Release Form (.pdf) (right click - save as). Players must be 14 years of age or older to compete in LANfest2K7 tournaments. 1.3 WHAT TO BRING Here are the things that each attendee should bring with them to LANfest2K7...
1.4 SUBSTANCE ABUSE Substance abuse of any sort will not be tolerated at Newegg LANfest2K7. Anyone found using or under the influence of illegal substances will be removed from the event immediately. Likewise, any minors found consuming alcohol will be removed from the event immediately. In both cases, individuals will not be permitted to return to the event and the proper authorities will be contacted. No refunds will be used in either case. Attendees are not allowed to bring alcohol into the BYOC. LANfest2K7 is for gamers of all ages, please consume alcohol responsibly in the appropriate areas only. 1.5 EVENT SCHEDULE The LANfest2K7 Schedule will be released prior to the event. We are still in the process of adding fun and exciting elements to LANfest2K7! Pre-registered attendees will receive an email with scheduling information prior to the event. 1.6 LANFEST2K7 GAMES LANfest2K7 will feature official tournaments for the following games: Counter-strike: Source, Day of Defeat: Source, Command & Conquer 3, Gears of War, Tekken 5, Super Smash Brothers Melee, and Guitar Hero 2. We know there are a lot of other really great games out there, but we won't be adding more games as official tournaments. That said... We encourage BYOC attendees to submit proposals for BYOC tournaments that they'd like to run at LANfest2K7. We may even be able to provide sponsor product prizes for BYOC tournaments! 2.2 LANfest2K7 TICKET DETAILS When registering, each LANfest2K7 participant will need to select a ticket. Details of what each ticket includes are below. Please note that all tickets allow attendees to watch tournament matches, participate in fun contests, raffles, giveaways, amd door prizes, explore the vendor and exhibitor areas, and observe stage activities throughout the event. BYOC + Tournament(s): This ticket includes a BYOC seat and table space (approx. 3'x3') for a console or PC and access to LANfest2K7 tournaments for $40. Each tournament is priced at $10 and access to all the fun events, contests, raffles, and vendors areas is included. Basically, it's the ultimate ticket to ride at LANfest2K7. BYOC Only: This ticket includes a BYOC seat and table space (approx. 3'x3') for a console or PC and costs $40. No tournament access, but you can watch everything! Tournament(s) Only: For $25, this ticket provides access to a tournament of the attendee's choice, but no BYOC seating. Additional tournaments are $10 each. Ya know, $15 + $10 + $10, etc. In between matches you can check out exhibitions, and participate in contests, raffles, and giveaways too! General Admission: $5 for the whole weekend to watch the action, check out exhibitions, and participate in contests, raffles, and giveaways. 2.3 CONFIRMED, WAITING, & PENDING STATUS Confirmed List: A confirmed participant is one who has paid their registration balance in full. For teams games, this also means that the team has met the minimum player requirement to compete and that those players have paid their registration fees in full. Only confirmed players and teams will be permitted to compete at LANfest2K7. Waiting List: Waiting List teams are those that have reached the minimum player requirement, but all players have not payed their registration fees. Pending List: Pending List teams and players are those that have not reached the minimum player requirement or paid their registration fees. 2.4 REFUND POLICY Refunds for LANfest2K7 tickets will be made only to the original purchaser through a support ticket request from the purchaser's registered account. All refunds are subject to a $2.00 service charge. No refunds will be processed after 11:59pm EST on September 23, 2007. After September 23, 2007, purchased tickets may only be transferred to another registrant. To transfer a purchased ticket, please open a Support Ticket request and include the following: a) Full Name, b) Gaming Alias, and c) email address of the registrant to which the ticket is being transferred. Only upon confirmation of the transfer request by both the original purchaser and the transfer registrant, will the balance of the purchased ticket be official transferred. Absolutely no refunds will be processed for poor tournament performance, failure to comply with event rules and regulations, failure to attend the event, or any other reason after September 23rd. 2.5 TICKET/TEAM CHANGES AND OTHER INQUIRIES Open up a Support Ticket to request changes to your registration. Note that past the deadline, we can only transfer your balances, not refund them. 3.1 WHERE IS LANfest2K7? Ontario, California! LANfest2K7 will be held at the Ontario Convention Center in Exhibit Hall A. The address for the venue is 2000 E. Convention Center Way, Ontario, CA 91764 . 3.2 FOOD Concessions will be available at LANfest2K7. Additionally, fun food events will be taking place for attendees to enjoy! Fast food is available right across the street. In-N-Out Burger is not far away at 1891 E. G Street. 3.3 HOTEL INFO The Doubletree Hotel Ontario Airport is the official hotel of LANfest2K7 and is fully booked. No in and out priviledges. 4.1 BYOC? Yes, LANfest2K7 absolutely will have a BYOC and a very cool one at that! Attendees will have a unique view of the event and a great seat no matter where they are sitting! 4.2 BYOC Size Newegg LANfest2K7 will have 400+ BYOC seats available for attendees. Approximately 350+ of those seats will be for PCs and another 50+ seats will be designated for consoles and TVs! 4.3 SLEEPING POLICY No one will be permitted to sleep in the BYOC (or anywhere else for that matter). Several hotels are within walking distance of the Ontario Convention Center. Please take advantage of those. 4.4 BYOC HOURS The LANfest2K7 BYOC will be open 24/7 for your gaming pleasure! 4.5 BYOC EQUIPMENT RESTRICTIONS Each person with a BYOC Ticket may bring one (1) Console system or PC system and one (1) display no greater in size than 32 inches in physical width. Each ticket will come with 2 power outlets, 1 ethernet cable, 3'x3' of table space, and a chair. Absolutely no additional equipment may be plugged into the BYOC power outlets. 650watts of power is the maximum allow per seat. No charging of cell phones, no external speakers, no UPS's--only 1 PC/console and 1 display that takes up 32 inches of space or less. Should you have any special needs (need more power, more space, etc), please open up a Support Ticket to discuss the matter or shoot us an email at lanfestinfo@newegg.com or request a second BYOC seat. 4.6 BYOC INTERNET Yes, there will be an interenet connection for the BYOC at LANfest2K7. That said... You can expect most bandwidth intensive things to be blocked (P2P, video sites, etc). 4.7 BYOC RESERVATIONS To reserve a BYOC seat for you and your party/team, you must all be registered for the BYOC and must all be Confirmed (fully paid up). If you meet these criteria, please open up a Support Ticket and list the Names and Alias of the people you wish to sit with. We will do our best to ensure that you have seats together in the same row. 5.1 COACHING Yes, each team may have one coach. Coaches do not need to purchase a Tournament(s) ticket, but must have at least a General Admission ticket to perform their role. And, of course, if coaches wish to sit in the BYOC with their teams or act as a backup for their teams, they need a BYOC ticket and/or Tournament(s) ticket, respectively. 5.2 MUTLIPLE PC TOURNAMENTS Yes... HOWEVER, should there be a scheduling conflict for matches with say CS:S and DoD:S, a player would be required to forfeit one match or the other. Multiple tournaments will be more easily managed in disciplines with shorter match lengths. 5.3 PRIZE ANNOUNCEMENTS Over $50,000 in cash and sponsor products will be given out throughout the LANfest2K7. Initial cash prizes breakdowns for official tournaments have been posted in the Tournament Information sections of the site. Additional sponsored product prizes, as well as door prizes, giveaways, raffles, contests and event prizes will soon follow. 5.3 TOURNAMENT RULES Tournament rules are availabe in the Downloads section as well as the Tournament Information for respective tournaments. Tournament formats (double elimination, group play, round robin, etc) will be announced prior to the event. 6.1 ONLINE TOURNAMENTS JetBlue is providing flights for LANfest2K7 Online tournament winners. Congrats to all teams and players that got free round-trip tickets from JetBlue! 7.1 TOURNAMENT PC SPECS Core 2 Duo E6600 Processor :: 2GB DDR2 SDRAM :: 10,000 RPM Hard Drive :: GeForce 8800GTX 768MB GPU 7.2 PLAYER PERIPHERALS Players absolutely can bring their own mice, keyboards, and headsets and are encouraged to do so. There are some restrictions, however. First and foremost, no controllers supporting programmable scripting of any sort will be allowed. We also strongly discourage the use of wireless peripherals or any sort. 7.3 COUNTER-STRIKE: SOURCE TOURNAMENT The LANfest2K7 Counter-strike: Source tournament will be played under a Max Rounds 12 rules set. Official rules are available here. The tournament format will be announced prior to the event (depends on the number of teams attending, etc). 7.4 PC TOURNAMENT GAME TITLES LANfest2K7 will feature PC tournaments for 5v5 Counter-strike: Source, 6v6 Day of Defeat: Source, and 1v1 Command & Conquer 3. 8.1 MUTIPLE CONSOLE TOURNAMENTS Console players may participate in multiple tournaments, HOWEVER... should there be a scheduling conflict for matches, a player would be required to forfeit one match or the other. Multiple tournaments will be more easily managed in disciplines with shorter match lengths. We will do our best to facilitate multiple participation in 1v1 games. 8.2 CONSOLE CONTROLLERS Console players may bring their own controller, but some restrictions do apply. 1) Controllers may not be wireless under any circumstances. Only wired controllers will be connected to Tournament consoles. 2) No programmable controllers will be allowed. 8.3 CONSOLE TOURNAMENT GAME TITLES LANfest2K7 will feature console tournaments for 4v4 Gears of War (Xbox360), 1v1 Tekken 5 (PS3), 1v1 Super Smash Bros. Melee (Wii), and Guitar Hero 2. |
